My Home in North West Donegal

I live in a lovely wee town on the coastline called Falcarragh. There is so much beauty all around Falcarragh and other neighbouring villages. I'm an amatuer photographer and I do like to get out and visit as many places as I can and photograph landscape and nature.

The Derryveigh Mountains line up along the landscape full of rich heather and bog lands all around giving beautiful natural waterfalls and spring rivers in all the cracks through the land. The Tullabegley River and the Bowan are one of my favorite places to walk along and enjoy the peace while watching the water and of course to photograph. From the Poison Glen in Dunlewey to Glenveigh National Park and Baltony to Cashel na Gorr there is just so much to see there. The views from the mountain tops whether it is Muckish Mountain or Errigal Mountain or in between, the spectacular views will leave you breathless (as well as the climb up lol) but so worth the climb.

For Nature and plant life I love to go to Cluain na d Tor Seaside Nursery & Gardens where Seamus O' Donnell specialises in plants that thrive in Seaside gardens and coastal regions. He has a lovely wee peice of heaven situated at the side of town where you can visit and walk through and purchase some lovely plants you might like for your garden.

On our shores which are never ending along here from Falcarragh Back Strand From Drumnatiiney to Ballyness Pier, then looking across to Magheroarty Strand which is split from Falcarragh side by a tidal River. The local Falcarragh community work hard to keep our beaches healthy by saving the dunes replanting Marram Grass and collecting any rubbish that was either dumped or washed in and they do a fantastic job.

Looking out to sea, you can see the Islands which are Inishbofin, Inishdooey, Inishbeg and the largest Island, Tory Island. The Tory Ferry can be caught from Magheroarty Pier and once there you will experience a wonderful time meeting the King of Tory himself and the lovely locals living there. I was there myself a few times now and I absolutely would recommend the trip out to everyone.

I hope you enjoy my site
